A little bit of David Lynch made it to Messina...

For the first time in the history of Messina, two of our stores were 'taken over' by the TWIN PEAKSDouble R Diner. No regular scoops, gelato cakes or deep house tunes were present, not even a drop of Salted Caramel White Choc – it was a wonderful and strange special agent operation.

Together with Pedestrian.TV and Stan, we put our Dale Cooper gloves on to take customers back in time to the warm and grainy realms of 90’s film.  We worked collaboratively with Pedestrian TV, who managed the store fit out, staff ‘diner’ uniforms, live pianist, signage, decals and lighting. Our chefs designed three themed custom gelato flavours which were served in store and given away for free to 8000 cult fans.

There was also a hearty serving of ‘Norma’s Incredible (gelato) Cherry Pie’ made for press and media, and the first 100 people to visit the stores.

Custom flavour creations:

She’s Dead, Wrapped in Plastic: Vanilla gelato with a raspberry gel and a blueberry sheet

Damn Good Cup of Coffee: Donut gelato with coffee caramel and coffee crunch

Norma's Incredible Cherry Pie: Cherry sorbet swirled with shortcrust gelato and layered with cherry compote
